About Me

Hi!  I'm Emily.  I'm a former dance teacher, a wanna-be photographer, and a music lover.  I drool over well organized pantries and closets, labels, post its, sharpies, storage bins, and baskets.

I am married to a Firefighter/Paramedic and we have 4 awesome young kiddos.  Life as a Fire Wife can be a bit crazy but I do my best to try and keep everyone sane around here ;)  My hubby works long hours, many holidays and birthdays, and misses a lot of school events and family functions due to his schedule, but we know we are blessed by his job and that it is allowing me to be home with the kids while they are young.  But, living on a single income with 4 kids does cause you to be creatively frugal sometimes so I hope to share some of those tips with you along the way too!

Simple Life of a Fire Wife began in September 2013 as an attempt to connect with and have some real conversations with some other adults who may also be sitting at home watching countless hours of Sesame Street, Dora, and Bubble Guppies (oh how my little one LOVES the Bubble Guppies...).  I hope you will find some inspiration, motivation, and maybe a few new recipes to try!  I thank you so much for being a part of this journey with me :)

  1. I am also a stay at home mommy blogger married to a firefighter/paramedic, so I'm a happy new follower of your blog! We are expecting our third child next month, so he is finishing up pulling a lot of 48s right now to make sure he has time off to be with us for a couple of weeks after switching departments not long ago. I'm sure you actually know what that means. LOL
